Machine Operator Job at Metals USA
- Basic reading and writing comprehension in English
- Basic measuring skills to read English & Metric systems
- Must be able to read measuring tape and caliper
- Basic arithmetic skills to calculate and convert decimals and fractions
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in operating a machine or as machine operator/helper
- Experience on overhead crane operation
- Ability to understand and use Safety Rules and Procedures as well as OSHA standards and regulations
- Must exercise a reasonable degree of judgment and possess the ability to recognize appropriate company policies that apply in each situation and follow them
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Metals USA is currently seeking Slitter Operators for their Springfield, OH facility.
This position requires accurate math skills, the ability to set up and operate a slitting machine, and previous slitting experience in a metal processing facility. In lieu of slitting experience, 1-3 years of machine operation experience will be considered.
