Surface Technologies (CW) is seeking a Machine Operator to support its Shot Peening department. Selected applicant will be responsible for inspecting, cleaning, and preparing parts for Shot Peening. Responsibilities also include plastic media blasting (Glass Bead) and shipping.

Essential Duties:

This individual has the responsibility and authority to carry out assigned task. May be assigned some or all duties indicated below depending on job progression level.

• Prepare, clean, set up, blast or shot-peen all assigned work.
• Primary duty consists of preparing parts through masking, blasting and shot-peening.
• Operate manual and automated Shot-Peen Machine. Prepare aircraft parts for shot-peening. Calculate and graph saturation curves. Perform part equivalency testing prior to shot-peening aircraft part. Maintain preventative maintenance of the Shot-Peen Machine.
• Maintain all consumables for blasting (i.e. media, nozzles, etc.). Routinely order those needed supplies through the Supervisor.
• Regularly empty and clean the large walk-in blast booth and all blasters used in plating.
• Assist in training junior personnel.
• Responsibility to work with LEAN Manufacturing principles.
• Performs other duties as required by business needs.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Certification/Licensure: Shot-Peen

Experience: One (1) year prior work experience in a manufacturing/ shop environment preferred.
