LPN - Hospice House (PT20+) Job at Hospice of the Piedmont Inc
Description:
Hospice of the Piedmont is seeking a night shift Licensed Practical Nurse to work part-time (24 hours weekly) at our residential facility to provide professional nursing services to patients utilizing the hospice concept and maintain high quality environment. Duties include but are not limited to, provide direct patient care and provide on-site responsibility for nursing assistants, report patient changes to Nurse Manager, obtain medications, performs medication counts, and documents accurately in the EMR.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have good communication skills, ability to manage all aspects of terminal care, health team service coordination, and documentation. Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement regulations, ability to effectively present information one-on-one and in small group situations to patients and care givers. Must be emotionally mature and able to provide compassionate support and assistance to terminally ill patients and their caregivers. Must be flexible and able to make well thought out decisions in stressful situations.
This position requires graduation from an accredited school and hold a valid, unencumbered license as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia; two years of relevant hospice experience.
