Ombudsman Job Posting
Catholic Charities – Diocese of Rockford seeks a full time (37.5 hr./week) employee for the Long Term Care Ombudsman Program in the nine county service area of northwestern Illinois (Boone, Carroll, DeKalb, Jo Daviess, Lee, Ogle, Stephenson, Whiteside and Winnebago counties). The person selected will serve as an advocate for residents of the licensed long-term care facilities.
The successful candidate will be highly motivated, caring, compassionate, and have excellent communication skills. Knowledge of the long-term care system and community resources is preferred. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university, and adherence to the ethical and moral norms of the Catholic Church and its principles of charity and justice. Computer skills, travel within the Diocese (nine-county service area) and occasional travel for training or meetings are required. Bi-lingual Spanish speaking is preferred.
