Job Description: A Physician specializing in Neuroendovascular procedures is a highly skilled

medical professional responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing patients with disorders

of the central nervous system using minimally invasive techniques. They are trained in neurology and interventional radiology, with a focus on treating conditions affecting blood vessels and blood flow in the brain and spinal cord.

Responsibilities:

1. Diagnosis and Evaluation: Conduct thorough patient evaluations to diagnose and assess

neurological disorders related to blood vessels, including aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations (AVMs), stroke, and other vascular abnormalities.

2. Treatment Planning: Develop individualized treatment plans based on the patient’s condition, medical history, and imaging studies. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including neurosurgeons, interventional radiologists, and other specialists, to determine the most appropriate course of action.

3. Neuroendovascular Procedures: Perform a variety of neuroendovascular procedures,

including cerebral angiography, embolization, clot retrieval, stent placement, and coiling,

using minimally invasive techniques. Utilize fluoroscopic imaging and advanced imaging

technologies to guide procedures.

4. Patient Care: Provide comprehensive patient care before, during, and after procedures,

ensuring optimal outcomes and patient safety. Monitor patient response and adjust

treatment plans as necessary. Educate patients and their families about the procedures,

risks, benefits, and post-procedure care.

5. Research and Innovation: Stay abreast of the latest advancements in neuroendovascular

techniques, equipment, and research. Participate in clinical trials, research studies, and

scholarly activities to contribute to the field’s knowledge and improve patient care.

6. Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records,

including procedure notes, patient charts, and other relevant documentation. Adhere to

legal and ethical standards of patient confidentiality and data protection.

7. Collaboration and Consultation: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals,

including neurologists, neurosurgeons, radiologists, anesthesiologists, and critical care

specialists, to provide comprehensive patient care. Consult with colleagues on complex

cases and provide expert advice and recommendations.

8. Continuous Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development

activities, including attending conferences, seminars, and workshops. Maintain board

certification and licensure, keeping up with evolving standards and best practices in

neuroendovascular medicine.

Requirements:

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of a residency program in neurology, interventional radiology, or neuroradiology.
  • Fellowship training in neuroendovascular procedures or equivalent experience.
  • Board certification or eligibility in neurology, interventional radiology, or neuroradiology.
  • Valid medical license to practice as a physician.
  • Proven experience in performing neuroendovascular procedures, including cerebral angiography, embolization, clot retrieval, and stent placement.
  • Proficiency in using advanced imaging techniques, such as fluoroscopy and angiography.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and communicate with patients and their families.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care, safety, and ethical standards.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle emergency situations.
  • Research experience and a track record of publications and presentations in the field of neuroendovascular medicine (preferred).
