Full Time - 40 hours per week
Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
SUMMARY
The Loan Servicing Specialist is plays an important roll in our Loan Operations Department. The candidate is responsible for completing the day to day servicing of all loans. Effectively support the Lending Team for all banks/branches. Performs a variety of servicing duties after origination and throughout the life of the loans. Will have knowledge and understanding of banking rules, regulations, laws and all policies and procedures pertaining to Loan Servicing, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act. The Loan Servicing Specialist will have the ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks; good time-management, organizational, problem-prevention and problem solving skills. Demonstrates a willingness to adapt to changing business needs and deadlines. Effectively communicate with co-workers, customers, and outside agencies in writing, in person, and over the phone. Work well with individuals and groups in all organization levels. Has the ability to work well independently and as a part of a team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Responsible for performing routine and intermediate duties related to consumer and business loan applications and boarding by generating loan documentation for all types of loans, and by processing consumer, commercial and real estate loan payments and advances on lines of credit.
- Works daily insurance and monthly reports; distributes daily and monthly reports; and promotes business for the Bank by maintaining good customer relations and referring customers to appropriate staff for new services.
- Answers the telephone, and responds to routine loan officer or customer inquiries relative to account balances, loan balances and payoff requests.
- Effectively Supports the Loan Processing Team, other members of the loan servicing team, the lending team and communicates with the 'front-line' as needed.
- Performs Quality Assurance by verifying and auditing input for accuracy after booking the loan.
- Enter Errors/ Exceptions into TESLAR exception tracing software.
- Maintain Loan Documentation Files; Scan/Index files into electronic file system (FDM).
- Ensures that all documents/signatures/forms are in the new loan file prior to boarding the loan.
- Boards completed loans on the Bank's host computer system including but not limited to collateral, escrows, UCC information, borrowing base information, appraisal information, State and county Filing information, etc.
- Process/monitor loan payments, payoffs and adjustments
- Provide quality assurance over loan documentation, collateral perfection, UCC filings, and insurance tracking systems
- May review and reconcile various loan servicing and general ledger accounts or reports, clear exceptions, and resolve issues as assigned.
- Capable of backing up and supporting most aspects of the department
- Perform duties accurately with close attention to detail while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Maintains a proficient knowledge of all applicable banking rules and regulations, and applies new information, policies and procedures as needed.
- Escrow Processing including but not limited to running escrow analysis, sending tax and insurance payments to vendors, refunding cushion overages, and sending notices for cushion shortages or changes to escrow payments.
- Process Participation Payments and Maintenance
- Initiate Loan Participation Payment Wires
- Process/Maintain Borrowing Base Loan Information Limits and Controls
- Setup and maintain External ATS/ACH Payments
- Research Credit disputes and updates and ensure responses are accurate and performed in a timely manner.
- Prepares collateral releases for lenders
- Will perform ALL types of loan maintenance
- Responsible for completing required training courses as assigned within established timeframes.
- Accurately research, image, index, and file documents using FDM
- Perform Loan Document Exception Tracking using TESLAR
- Filing documents into loan physical files.
- Strong analytical abilities with active listening skills
- Centralized funding of ALL loan types.
- Review assigned daily reports, balance assigned General Ledger Loan Exception Reports and verify that Loan Associated G/L outages are corrected daily.
- Track loan files that have not been received by Loan Operations.
- Provide Reports to Sr. Management as directed.
- Support Lending Staff and Loan Assistants as needed.
- File Continuation Agreements (state and county) for Expiring UCC's filings
- Release collateral when loan pays off (Requires assigned Officer Approval)
- Adhere to Policy, Procedures and Compliance requirements.
- Assist with training of new employees in the Loan Servicing Department.
- Validate loan customer address changes.
- Types routine letters reports and forms.
- Maintains files, copies and faxes documents, and orders and distributes supplies.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 1 year of lending support experience; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Work related experience should consist of lending support duties in a financial institution or business environment. Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be business or financial industry related.
- Basic experience, knowledge and training in bank operational activities, terminology and products and services.
- Basic lending terms knowledge.
- Basic knowledge of general office practices.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Basic skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation; host computer system; word processing, spreadsheet and specialty software programs.
