The Department of Counseling at San Francisco State University invites applications for part-time temporary lecturer faculty positions in AY 2023-2024. The Department of Counseling is a primarily graduate program with six different counseling specializations including Career Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, College Counseling, Gerontological Counseling, Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling. The mission of the Department of Counseling at San Francisco State University is to train the next generation of counselor leaders who recognize that the liberation of all communities is only possible when an intersectional, participatory, community-driven approach to counseling is practiced. Qualifications:

Required:

• Master’s degree in Counseling or closely related field.

Preferred:

• Record of teaching contributions in the areas of counseling or related field;
• Demonstrated ability to incorporate inclusion, diversity, and educational equity in teaching;
• Experience working closely with students from historically underrepresented communities;
• Experience in counseling practice related to the course assignment;
• Record of contributing to collegial, supportive, and collaborative work environments;
• Experience and/or expertise in the content area of the specific course assignment;
• Demonstrated commitment to diverse and minoritized communities.

Salary

Lecturer A/2 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $4,530 – $6,056 per month
Lecturer B/3 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $5,405 – $11,994 per month
Lecturer C/4 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $6,190 – $13,172 per month
Lecturer D/5 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $7,794 – $13,797 per month

Anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience. Most new lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank.
