The Learning and Development (L&D) Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of learning strategies, plans, programs, and processes to support organizational goals. This position oversees the development the Subject Matter Experts (SME) and Mentor programs, learning content and training outcomes for the organization.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Personally, provides exceptional Member service; uses Service Standards in every work-related interaction.
- Actively participates in meeting the goals of the department and the Credit Union.
- Uses organizational tools and techniques to complete tasks on time and successfully manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously, with the ability to give unexpected status in any of the areas of responsibility. Ensures the Learning & Development team exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.
- Incorporates member service and behavior/service strategy in all organizational training programs.
- Possesses and utilizes a high-level understanding of operations, lending and support department functions to enhance and support the Learning and Development training model.
- Travels to and provides oversight and assessment of onsite training facilitation, assessments and in all learning environments.
- Conducts consistent reviews and analyzes learning outcomes to recommend programs that address individual and organizational learning and development needs.
- Evaluates the operational needs of the L&D department and recommends software Learning Management Systems (LMS), authoring tools, video production etc.) to meet production needs.
- Makes budget recommendations based on L&D’s department strategic goals and maintains relationships with vendors and consultants.
- Consults and collaborates with leaders, process owners and stakeholders to develop next steps content development and career pathing.
- Develops and designs learning content while maintaining the consistency and integrity of training throughout the organization.
- Ensures all learning content is aligned with compliance with Arrowhead policy, procedure and skill standards.
- Creates standard practices and operations for the delivery, design and reporting to ensure organizational learning goals are addressed.
- Consistently performs supervisory duties: plans, assigns, directs and evaluates direct reports’ work, reviews efficiency and completeness of tasks; conducts performance reviews, recommends salary increases and develops higher levels of expertise in team members through coaching and training.
- Effectively collaborates with Human Resources leadership to align department direction and prioritize learning needs to meet the credit union’s strategic direction.
- In partnership with Human Resources leadership to facilitate the process of guiding Mentors, SMEs and organizational leaders in the practices of adult learning skills.

Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
