Position Overview:
The Novelis Global Procurement team is seeking a Supplier Assurance Lead to report to the Sr. Director, Procurement Excellence. This role will address a critical and emerging need for today’s global companies: assure their supply chains adhere to all legal, social, and sustainability standards. In addition, the candidate will lead the effort for implementing a technology solution for company-wide document retention and process to respond to regulatory and customer inquiries faster and in a repeatable way. This position will also drive Supplier Relationship Management initiatives such as supplier executive champion program, supplier awards and supplier days. To do this, the successful applicant will need to effectively manage a global stakeholder team, have excellent communication skills and be familiar with project management best practices.
Responsibilities & Qualifications:
Responsibilities:
  • With our Procurement and Legal teams, structure sustainable responses to customer and regulator questions regarding our supply base
  • Advance supplier recognition and rewards via a global supplier event, partnering with Novelis Communications and the Executive team
  • Interface with Legal and Sustainability functions to understand and incorporate compliance and sustainability certification considerations
  • With IT, determine a document storage solution that will provide global access to supplier certification information
  • Work with our leading suppliers to drive adherence to supplier code of conduct and maintain a database of signed documents
  • Be the focal point of contact and work with procurement and business leadership to drive SRM initiatives
Minimum Qualifications:
  • College Degree – bachelor’s in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or similar field
  • 5+ years in procurement or supply chain
  • Experience with the evolving legal, social, and sustainability requirements for supply chain transparency
  • Communication

  • Organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Any experience in data management or IT including implementing cloud-based solutions for data retention
  • Cross-region project management experience
  • Experience in Supplier Quality Requirements Management
  • Experience implementing supplier standards programs
