Job Description Summary
The Lead Manufacturing Engineer will manage and coordinate delivery projects within the Supplier Performance & Execution Sourcing Section. You will organize and coordinate multi-functional teams to execute on product delivery improvements, support the Sourcing team and suppliers to resolve technical issues, while providing expertise to the team on manufacturing processes.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Customer: Manufacturing Engineering focal for assigned supplier base. Expected to own the technical performance of limited suppliers.
- Customer: Participates in delivery problem solving with fulfilment, commercial and quality team members.
- Expertise: Has manufacturing experience in part family and processes
- Expertise: Guides and influences suppliers’ performance based on developing manufacturing expertise.
- Cost: Knows processes and basics of part costs, provides guidance on cost improvement opportunities.
- Producibility: Supports source changes as needed while problem solving and supporting suppliers
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years (manufacturing, engineering or Production management) experience + minimum of 3 years (Manufacturing, engineering or production management) experience.
Desired Characteristics:
- Experience programming or mechanically supporting traditional (milling, turning, broach, weld) and/or non-traditional (EDM, 3D printing) machining methods.
- Sourcing, Shop Operations, or Production Control expertise
- Manufacturing Experience in Aerospace or Automotive a plus
- Experience driving multiple projects to meet deliverables while influencing teammates to do the same.
- Experienced problem solver comfortable developing alternative solutions to support customer needs.
- Humble: respectful, inclusive, good listener, learns from past
- Transparent: Candid in feedback, shares to solve problems, helps grow others
- Focused: Safety first, prioritizes work, measures success by the customer, continuously improves
This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
