Summary of Job Duties:
The Instructor is required to teach a full load (5 classes) at the UA Pulaski Technical College Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management Institute, under the direct supervision of the Director and Associate Dean at the UA - Pulaski Technical College Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management Institute.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • In control at all times of ordering and the maintaining of food and non-food products needed for instruction of classes.
  • Maintain cleanliness of classroom, kitchen and storage areas; oversee periodic maintenance and cleaning of equipment and work areas.
  • Provide academic leadership of the school in conjunction with the Director and Associate Dean.
  • Assist with maintaining appropriate relationships with the licensing bodies.
  • Sustain and develop course curriculums and future academic programs.
  • Oversee and input program assessment each semester
  • Attend faculty development seminars
  • Pursue appropriate certification through the American Culinary Federation, the American Hotel and Lodging Association, the Worldchefs Society or other certification bodies.
  • Assist with periodic program review no less frequently than every three to five years for each academic program.
  • Assist with maintaining national accreditation through the American Culinary Federation.
  • Assist with maintaining national accreditation through The Accreditation Commission for Programs in Hospitality Administration.
  • Assist with Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management Institute Special Events.
  • Engage in the ongoing processes and activities necessary for evaluation and professional development of faculty.
  • Advise and register students; assist with career placement services.
  • Assist the Director and Associate Dean in all ways necessary to grow and maintain the integrity of the program.
  • Promote the goals of the school both internally and externally.
  • Promote the mission of UA- Pulaski Technical College.

Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associate degree in one or more of these areas: culinary arts, baking and pastry arts, hospitality management or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Certified or Certifiable in one or more of these areas: CEC, CEPC, CCE with the American Culinary Federation and/or Worldchefs Society or other certification body.
  • Prior work experience in applicable field.
  • Four years of supervisory experience in a hospitality operation or college level teaching experience in Hospitality Management/Administration.
  • Commitment to the mission of the comprehensive two-year college and its role in total community development.
  • Leadership and managerial abilities, including excellent organizational, computer and communications skills.
  • Understanding and commitment to equal access/equal opportunity.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor degree in a related field from a regionally-accredited institution.
  • Certified in one or more of these areas: CEPC, with the American Culinary Federation or WCEPC with the Worldchefs Society or other certification body.
