AE Business Solutions is seeking a
Lead Database Analyst with strong AWS Cloud and pipelining skills to take on a fully-remote contract-to-hire opportunity. The Lead Database Analyst will act in the capacity of a PostreSQL DBA and help this client evaluate their current systems while having an influence on potential improvements to the tools and environment.

Reason this is open:
- We are separating from a third party who handles all of the development and management of AWS databases (RDS PostgreSQL) and pipeline deployments. This will be ending in early December so we are trying to get his current team up-to-speed before that happens. We need someone who can join his team in more of a lead role and help to bring the rest of the team up-to-speed while evaluating current systems and processes and making suggestions on improvements.
- We would like this person to look at pipelines and terraform work and make suggestions on improvements, then help to implement those improvements.
- This person will need to have exceptional communication skills (ability to help others understand the reason/benefits for the changes and get them on board with them vs. just telling people what to do).
Job Requirements:
- AWS RDS hands on experience.
- Strong Postgres DB administration experience in production environments.
- Capacity planning, performance assessment of AWS RDSs.
- Configuration and support of complex RDS Databases in AWS environment, Configuring and managing high availability
- Experience of managing multiple RDS, database versions on large systems.
- Practical experience in monitoring.
- Knowledge of reporting and query tools and practices.
- Experience in using Performance Insights, RDS KPI design and management.
- Working knowledge of Lambda, Python.
- Working knowledge of Devops support model.
- IT industry and DBA role experience for 8-10 years.
Tools:
- Skilled in all aspects of AWS Aurora/RDS-Postgres database.
- Skilled in SQL.
- Skilled in Unix.
- Skilled in using Python/JSon and automation.
- Skilled in shell scripting
- Experience using JIRA
- Terraform

- Client facing experience.
- Good technical and analytical skills for issues troubleshooting
- Must possess good communication skills, both in verbal and in written form
