Laundry Attendant Job at Benchmark Senior Living

The Laundry Attendant is responsible for assisting in maintaining both the cleanliness of the facility and the operation of the laundry area in a safe and efficient manner. This position reports to the Director of Housekeeping.
Responsibilities:
- Collects soiled items from halls and soiled utility rooms then sorts, weighs and washes according to procedures.
- Dries and irons items according to procedure guidelines.
- Folds, sorts and labels clean linens when dry.
- Distributes clean folded laundry to appropriate closets and carts in a neat and orderly fashion.
- Hangs garments and place on racks for transportation.
- Reports linen needs to supervisor.
- Follows routine daily and weekly laundry area cleaning and sanitation schedules.
- Performs daily cleaning of carts and dryers, cleaning of furnishings, fixtures, countertops, closets and other areas of laundry.
- Maintains appropriate linen par levels in nursing home linen closets.
- Handles clean and soiled laundry according to state and federal guidelines.
- Mops and disinfects floors to ensure proper sanitation.
- Empties, cleans and relines and sanitizes trashcans daily or as needed.
- Cleans floors, dry mops and wet mopes per assigned schedule.
- Complies with facility policies and procedures for workplace safety including infection control procedures, application of standard precautions for blood borne pathogens, use of personal protective equipment and handling of hazardous materials.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to perform simple mathematical calculation (batch, weigh and loading wash per capacity of machines).
