Job Title: Lab Technician

Location: Cheswick, PA 15024

Duration: 12 Months Contract (Potential Temp to Perm)

Pay Rate: $21/hr. (Fixed)

Shift Time: 1st Shift

Flexibility start times between 6am-9am. Optional OT as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Sample processing and handling of chemicals including isocyanates
• Physical property testing and characterization
• Data entry, processing, and documentation
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs. as well as manipulate and transport samples and lab materials
• Maintain and improve lab space and equipment
• Other duties as appropriate for a laboratory technician position
• Willingness to pick up new responsibilities in a research environment, accept feedback and training, and maintain practices individual is trained to
• Adherence to safe work practices and compliance with all environmental, health, safety and security protocols as specified by personnel or documented procedures

Requirements:

• Associate’s Degree or equivalent in a science, technology, and/or engineering related field or
• 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or manufacturing support role.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
• Good cooperative interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work proactively either independently or in a team
• Proficiency with MS Windows and MS Office; with a particular emphasis on MS Excel
• Experience with standardized testing methods
• Rudimentary understanding of statistics and experimental methods
• Fundamental understanding of physical and mechanical properties of materials
• Experience maintaining/repairing electrical and/or mechanical devices
• Aptitude with hand tools and simple metal working/fabrication
• Demonstrated experience in conducting scientific experimentation and documentation (report writing)
