Job Overview:
Our ideal Kitchen Manager will have a passion for continuous education not only for themselves but their peers as well. Positive attitude is a must in this role, and our ideal applicant will be the driving force of positivity and accountability in our café kitchens. The Kitchen Manager will collaborate daily with the Café Manager to ensure that all food safety standards and company standards are being adhered to. This role will also be responsible kitchen quality control, inventory levels, and associate training.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Act as the leader of the kitchen at the Café and member the café leadership team.
- Write BOH schedules, managing kitchen labor costs.
- Work in tandem with the culinary leadership team to successfully execute menu items and weekly specials.
- Foster a team-oriented community in the kitchen that is safe and creative.
- Set the expectation for your team.
- Educate and train kitchen team members on food prep techniques, instilling pride.
- Prepare menu items in a way that balances efficiency and the company’s high standards.
- Enhance the food program’s reputation by accepting ownership of the kitchen space and staff.
- Embrace the company’s chosen forms of communication.
- Own, schedule and execute in-house catering program/events.
- Conducts interviews in tandem with the GM and hiring process for needed BOH staff members.
- Counsel team members in a clear way with proper documentation.
- Maintains a positive attitude, treating everyone with respect, including customers, coworkers, other members of management, FOH staff and production teams.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- 5+ years of kitchen management experience.
- Food handler’s card or Serve Safe certification.
- Current driver’s license (when applicable).
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs to waist height.
- Must be able to lift 30 lbs above your head.
- Stand on your feet for a shift of 8 hours or more at one time.
