The Kitchen Assistant supports the Bakers, Frosters, and Dishwashers to ensure that cakes of the highest quality are consistently created for our guests and contributes to superior service by meeting production demands. The Kitchen Assistant floats where needed, gaining the maximum exposure to all Back of House operations and procedures. Following strict proprietary recipes, company production methods, and food safety standards, the Kitchen Assistant helps perform the repeated production and sanitation process for our delicious cakes offered in a variety of flavors and sizes. Preferred but not required: ● Product inventory organization ● Operational support in foodservice Responsibilities (include but are not limited to) ● Follows proprietary recipes and cake production methods with precision and achieves productivity goals. ● Effectively utilizes measuring instruments, commercial-grade mixers and ovens, and other tools to produce cakes. ● Assists with accurately preparing raw ingredients and equipment. ● Assists with daily production flow and processes. ● Abides by all Company policies and procedures. ● Upholds the company image and brand. ● Is punctual for all scheduled shifts. ● Maintains a consistent work attendance and punctuality record. ● Adheres to the proper packaging, labeling and storage of baked cakes as well as product rotation standards, and maintains baking and refrigeration logs. ● Manually washes, rinses and sanitizes all baking pans, dishes, utensils, and other tools in a thorough and timely manner and adheres to all Company standards. ● Monitors sanitization levels to ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines. ● Gathers and removes garbage, sweeps, and mops floors, and cleans floor drains. ● Performs routine cleaning of windows, shelves, counters, refrigerator, cooler, and bathroom. ● Cleans sanitizes and restocks the workstation and ensures all cleaning supplies are sufficiently prepared for the next shift. ● Assists in the unloading, processing, and storage of weekly supplies delivery. ● Complies with all health and safety guidelines and Company policies and procedures, including strict adherence to dress code and personal hygiene. ● Maintains a consistent work attendance and punctuality record. ● Interprets instructional documents such as recipes, operating procedures, and health and safety rules, and applies knowledge to perform job responsibilities. ● Performs repetitious, physical tasks that require the strength to lift items of moderate to heavyweight (as much as 50 pounds) and stands for extended periods of time. ● Operates commercial-grade ovens and other bakery equipment and works adjacent to a high-heat source. ● Meticulously measures exact ingredients, paying strict attention to timing, and works on a tight, fast-paced production schedule. ● Evaluates products, processes, information, and surroundings to determine compliance with standards. ● Strictly adheres to health and safety practices and work environment standards. ● Diligently, organizes and self-starts, with the ability to operate independently with minimal supervision.
