PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The primary role of a Kitchen Aide position here at Camp Tekakwitha is to assist the head cook in meal preparation, serving (as needed), and clean up post meal. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic and desire to learn. The applicant must be willing to clean dishes, cut vegetables, and assist with the cleaning at camp. It is imperative this individual understand the mission/vision of both the Diocese of Green Bay and more specifically Camp Tekakwitha. The ideal candidate is one who has a desire to serve the campers, staff, and community deeply rooted in the Catholic faith.

As a member of the Camp Tekakwitha Summer Staff, this individual is expected to be a role model and set a standard of excellence for the campers, LQ’s, explorers, and counselors in training. While employed at Camp Tekakwitha, this individual must follow the most basic doctrine of the Catholic Church to align with the mission/vision of the Diocese of Green Bay. Ideal candidates will be an example as a Missionary Disciple with a servant heart.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Applicant must be 16 years of age
  • Must be first aid/CPR certified (or willing to be trained)
  • Understanding of the mission/vision of Camp Tekakwitha
  • Understanding of the Catholic Church, its teachings and practices
  • Demonstrate eager ability to learn, grow, and receive both positive and critical feedback
  • Basic knowledge of conflict resolution and problem solving
  • Ability to work well with people of all backgrounds and all ages
  • Strong relational ability to serve as a member of a team and work independently
  • Ability to foster an environment of communal living
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
