Kindergarten Aide Job at Swampscott Public Schools
The responsibilities of a Kindergarten Aide: PART TIME 19.5 HOURS PER WEEK
Assist in daily activities in the kindergarten classroom including preparing materials (copying. cutting)- Assist in activities of daily living for kindergarten students (zipping coast, opening lunch containers, tying shoes, etc.)
- Assist in the supervision of kindergarten students in the classroom setting.
- Monitoring and manage students and their behavior and manners during meals in the lunchroom/classroom with particular attention to safety and social distancing protocols (behavior problems will be referred to the teacher or principal according to guidelines established by the individual school site).
- Ensure each meal service flows smoothly while communicating with staff and students professionally and positively
- Manages students during meal service (behavior problems will be referred to the teacher or principal according to guidelines established by the individual school site).
- Communicates with students and school staff in a positive and professional manner utilizing appropriate customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Circulate throughout the cafeteria or in areas where meals are served and/or eaten assisting students who need assistance.
- Assists with the cleanliness of the cafeteria/classroom. Cleans the tables, chairs, and floors where students have eaten.
- Dismisses classes in an orderly manner at the scheduled time.
- Participates in training sessions, meetings, and scheduled cleaning days as requested.
- Models non-discriminatory practices in all activities.
- Supervise students at playtime and lunchtime and maintain a harmonious atmosphere by encouraging peaceful resolution of conflicts.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
