Kennel Assistant Job at Bolton Animal Hospital
Bolton Animal Hospital is looking for motivated responsible individual to join our Kennel Technician team. You must have a positive attitude with a love for cats and dogs of all sizes. You do more than just clean and disinfects kennels, you will also learn basic animal care and behavior. We have a wonderful staff and group of veterinarians that are always available for any questions or concerns you may have. Having previous experience in boarding and or veterinary care is always a plus, but we would be happy to provide training to the right candidate.
Job Duties and Responsibility
- Clean and disinfect kennels
- Walk and play with the pets to create a happy and healthy environment
- Feed and water according to their charts
- Give animals medications depending upon needs
- Assist with vaccinations and nail trims upon requests
- Do a daily health check - speak to the veterinarian if needed
- Intake patients and discharge animals - Must be able to speak to the owner about the pets stay and needs
- Assist with any and all cleaning requirements hospital and boarding facility
- Assist with laundry – cleaning, folding, and restocking
Requirements
- Passionate about animals of all shapes and sizes
- Able bodied – able to bend, twist, lift and carry up to 50lbs
- Experience in animal care (Preferred)
- Able to work weekends and holidays
- Ability to work in noisy conditions
- Support team members
- Ability to endure sitting and standing on hard surfaces for extended time periods
