As one of the nation’s largest single-source providers of lighting and electrical products, electrical services, electrical construction, and energy management solutions is expanding their staff and seeking an Junior Project Engineer to join the FSG Electric - NY team.


JOB DESCRIPTION

A Junior Project Engineer is responsible for completing construction and engineering projects by organizing and controlling all elements of a project. We are seeking someone with firm engineering skills and management skills.

A Junior Project Engineer will:

  • Maintain logs and supervise RFIs, Daily Reports, and Submittals on web-based programs.
  • Negotiate and maintain relations with vendors and subcontractors.
  • Support Project Manager with electrical project establishment and closeout.
  • Perform electrical developments executing quality, operation and safety enhancements to the firm’s production lines
  • Conduct design of electrical engineering, parameters and review.
  • Ensure to make decisions related to electrical engineering principles applied to operation problems and requirements proposed.
  • Perform with technical specialists like electrical engineering, process and automation to resolve complete requirements.
  • Develop and review of complex electrical project calculations.
  • Prepare documented design inputs.
  • Review design inputs and review of engineering drawings.
  • Prepare and review equipment along with material parameters.
  • Prepare reports and study existing technical information clearly and precisely to attain client requirements.
  • Participate in project electrical work plan development.
  • Assuring that all deadlines are being met
  • Making sure that all health, safety and legal requirements are being met throughout the process
  • Responding to any client complaints, concerns or requests throughout the project


The ideal candidate will satisfy the following requirements and qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management with relevant work experience
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to think big picture and take into account long-term implications of ones’ actions
  • Passion for looking for ways to improve individual and/or company performance
  • Commitment to exceeding customers’ expectations
  • Intermediate level in Procore, CMiC, or similar construction software
  • Intermediate to advanced level in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Must have Valid Driver’s License.
  • Must be able to pass drug and background screen
