Job Title: Plumber
Reports to: Service Manager
Job Purpose
A Plumber is critical to our success by being responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing used for water distribution and wastewater disposal in residential settings. A plumber also educates clients on options to repair, update, and service any plumbing related items in the home as needed.
Wage & Classification
- This is a non-exempt position.
- Starting Pay: $100,000 - $200,000 annually
Essential Elements of the Job
- Diagnose diverse service issues, obtain any replacement parts, and educate the client fully on what the issue is and what is needed to correct.
- Understand company pricing and generate appropriate customer invoice at job site. Electronically process credit card payments. Obtain customer signature at completion of job. Obtain correct customer information including email address.
- Maintain proper stock, parts, tools, and safety equipment in the vehicle.
- Design, install and service a variety of boilers and water treatment options.
- Follow all safety protocols while working in a client’s home, driving in a company vehicle, performing job functions in the company warehouse and yard.
Additional Responsibilities of the Job
- Always wear all required PPE, this includes company approved safety glasses, gloves, and work boots.
- Maintain good working order of company vehicle including refueling as necessary, reporting any mechanical issues immediately, and filling out and submitting monthly vehicle inspection form. Vehicles should be washed on a regular basis.
- Travel to job sites in service area, and work with dispatch to ensure schedule is maintained and delays are effectively communicated to customer.
- Document all installed equipment upon arrival: make, model, serial number.
- Participate in company provided training opportunities on latest industry.

- Effectively communicate with clients in a way that represents Doctor Fix-It in a professional manner.
- Provide your own tools including, hand tools, drills, hand saws, brazing and soldering equipment. Company will provide large tools such as demolition hammers, tanks, and large hammer drills.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Expected shifts for this position are 5 days a week Monday – Saturday, 7:30 – 5:30.
Qualifications

Required:
- Must be willing to work towards a residential plumbing license if not already licensed.
- Must be insurable on our vehicle policy.
Preferred:
- 2 or more years of successful residential service plumbing
Performance Expectations
- Maintain a minimum rate of 25% on converting non-service plan members to becoming members.
- Maintain a minimum conversion of 80% on all service and repair calls.
- Maintain a minimum average ticket on repair calls of $550.
- Maintain a minimum average ticket on scheduled service type calls of $235.
- Maintain water treatment sales of $5,000 per month minimum. Must maintain a call back on repair or service of less than 5% per month, and overall, for a 12 month rolling period.
- As a service technician a minimum of $35,000 in revenue is required per month, this revenue includes repair, service, water treatment, and remodels.
