Job Coach / Developer – Vocational Rehabilitation (VR)

Company Overview:

The agency is a leading provider of vocational rehabilitation (VR) services to over 100 individuals (most of whom are intellectually or developmentally disabled) in Arizona.

Job Summary:

The agency is responsible for helping its clients gain independence and overcome potential barriers to employment. The job coach / developer is primarily responsible for helping clients with disabilities find jobs, get enrolled in college, learn life skills, develop job and work training skills, explore career opportunities, and be a job coach mentor to those clients. The position will report directly to the VR department manager.

Job Responsibilities:

· Provides job coaching; assumes responsibility for continuity, quality, and safety of services delivered in compliance with State and federal regulations

· Research and communicate job requirements

· Must have the ability to write grammatically correct reports

· Help clients find employment or enrollment in educational programs

· Development of client work and life skills

· Help clients explore career and educational opportunities

· Participate in activities relevant to services furnished

· Monitors operations and identifies problem areas to manager both verbally and through written reports

· Uses effective interpersonal relations and communication skills; facilitates the use of these skills by other team members to achieve desirable outcomes.

Job Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma, Bachelors preferred

Experience: At least one year of experience in vocational rehabilitation, job coaching or development

Skills: You will have to pass a written sample test. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively. Demonstrates proven decision making skills. Must read, write and comprehend English. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all segments of the staff, the lay and professional public. Shall be able to read, write and comprehend English. Proficiency with Spanish and home care is a plus.

Fingerprint Card: A Level 1 Fingerprint Card (or be able to obtain one)

Transport: Valid driver’s license, insurance, registration, and a reliable vehicle

Computer: You must have your own computer

Environmental and Working Conditions:

Performs duties in varying office environments during agency operating hours. Regularly required to visit job sites or meet clients in public meeting places. Prolonged sitting is required. Requires ability to handle stressful situations in a calm and courteous manner at all times. Requires working under some stressful conditions to meet agency needs. Prolonged standing and walking may be required.

Job Type:

Both full time and part time positions are available

Compensation:

Up to $20 -30 per hour
