IT - PS Sr Programmer Analyst Job at Georgia Farm Bureau
REMOTE POSITION
DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- To analyze user needs for new automated systems or enhancements to existing systems.
- Create detail designs to solve complex business issues.
- Provide programming skills to develop complex programs, and fully document the system(s) for all aspects of running the system.
- Analyze complex production problems and develop solutions in a time constrained schedule.
- Ability to develop sound solutions independently.
- Accountable for the accuracy, quality and maintainability of solutions
QUALIFICATION, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate Degree in Computer Science (or related area) with six years’ experience or
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (or related area) with five years’ experience or
- Eight years’ experience with no related degree developing complex automated systems.
- Should have working experience on hardware and operating software similar to what is used in our company. Accounting and Property/Casualty Insurance background a plus. Strong COBOL and/or JAVA.
- Prior experience coordinating the work of others. Strong communications and CICS experience needed.
- Requires excellent interpersonal relationship skills. Strong PC skills needed for word processing, spreadsheets, internet and Windows functionality.
- DB2 and SQL skills needed. Browser usage with HTML documents will be helpful.
- Required to lead meetings for requirements elicitation and to analyze complex problem resolutions.
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Requires availability and ability to handle on-call rotations.
- PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Normal office environment. Must be able to see and hear. May occasionally need to lift, hold and carry 20 pounds.
