IT Business Analyst II
Serve as the primary liaison between IT and business areas for technology development. Design, deliver, and maintain high quality business solutions and requirements for assigned initiatives. Apply appropriate requirements management methodology, develop expertise in one or more business areas and contribute to clarifying requests for support, enhancements and projects.

What You’ll Do: We are seeking an IT Business Analyst II to help acquire and document project and enhancement requirements within our Marketing & Distribution IT department and be a part of a high performing, collaborative team where every day is different. As a Business Analyst II, you will be responsible for gathering requirements to support systems used by agents and clients, including Microsoft Dynamics CRM, our Agent Portal (SharePoint/.NET Applications), public and client websites, client mobile application, data integrations between M&D applications, and supporting vendor solutions. The successful candidate would have the ability to work with business and IT partners to understand and define the requirements that support business objectives, understand the systems we support, and can communicate effectively at various levels of the organization
Daily Responsibilities Include:
- Serve as a liaison between business partners and IT areas for technology development and primary contact for clarification of business requirements during system development.
- Work with business partners and IT to identify business and technology requirements. Evaluate functionality, assist in the effort to document business objectives. Resolve conflicting or competing requirements and assist process redesign where applicable.
- Communicate effectively by meaningful and articulate verbal discussion, creating clear and coherent written materials, synthesizing information into succinct and logical materials.
- Work towards procuring business partner acceptance of documented requirements and decisions contained in the business specifications and creating agile stories for technical development teams to complete.
- Review and document systems limitations vs. business requirements to determine alternatives and reach the best corporate solution.
- Coordinate all documentation to ensure business requirements are traceable to agile stories so testing plans can be efficiently developed by quality assurance teams.
- Work with the project managers, business partners, technology teams, and IT leadership to see that requirements & development completion are delivered as required by established process and timelines. Respond to and resolve customer service requests according to FBL Financial Group, Inc., policies in a prompt, efficient and courteous manner for external customers, departmental staff, and other FBL personnel at all times.
Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
- College degree plus 3 years’ industry experience required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills required.
- Agile/Waterfall project (or program) related understanding preferred.
- Must be results oriented and able to adapt and deal with ambiguous situations and manage expectations.
- Exposure to software testing practices preferred.
- Ability to read, write and speak the English language.
