IT Applications Specialist Job at Superior Beverage Group
The Applications Specialist role helps to maintain and operate critical software applications and databases. In this position, you will respond to calls for IT support, resolve internal issues with the software, deploy enhancements and updates, communicate with the vendor(s), and work with internal teams to develop, implement, and communicate best practices and procedures. You should be able to work with the hardware needed to run the application.
Schedule:
Monday through Friday, day shift
Reports on site to our main facility in Glenwillow, OH

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage data and relational database structures to support multiple software platforms
Work with internal and external stakeholders to develop, implement and support data flows and processes
Answer calls and emails from internal stakeholders
Respond to requests for IT support
Identify, analyze and document issues, questionable functions, errors, and inconsistencies in software program functions, outputs, screens, and content.
Maintain record logs of all requests and solutions
Maintain and create SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) as needed.
Possess very high reasoning skills including ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Possess the ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
Possess the ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
Possess the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers with various levels of technological proficiency
Gather detailed requirements from business users for approved projects and/or enhancements to existing projects. Determine how changing business needs will affect existing systems. Must quickly learn new areas of the business to provide adequate support as business needs change
Take a lead role in planning, design, documentation, testing and deployment of projects
Lead design sessions in prototyping new systems for the purpose of enhancing business processes, operations, and information process flows
Partner with the business and departments outside of IT to facilitate the implementation of new or modified system changes
Set and manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders
Coordinate and/or perform testing of system modifications and develop systems training and education tools/materials. Validate that user requirements are met by developed solutions.
Conduct research and analysis into the nature, effect, and results of system problems including root cause analysis through problem ticket resolution
Assist users with understanding business systems and support users with system issues
After hours and weekend support will be required as needed.
Occasional travel between Lewis Center, Ohio and Glenwillow, Ohio
Foundation Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities Required:
Bachelor's degree relating to Information Technology or a minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience in the IT field.Solid understanding of concepts governing relational database structures, the use of reporting/query tools and the construction of SQL statements
Help desk support experience
Experience in a distribution or logistics environment is a plus
High level of proficiency with Office Suite to include Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint or the corresponding Google Workspace applications
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong business analysis skills
Strong application support and problem solving skills
Ability to work well with all levels of resources in the organization
Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Working knowledge in any of the following is preferred but not required:
Route accounting software (RAS) such as VIP, eoStar, Encompass
Key competencies - business acumen, customer focus, change management, problem solving, collaboration and teamwork
ERP or WMS support experience is preferred
Experience with formal development and business requirements methodologies and tools
Functional knowledge in any of the following: distribution, route accounting, finance or logistics
