FSG Inventory Manager:

  • Will initially be purchasing for Binford, focusing on wood purchases; will transition to purchase by PCAT across FSG once Binford is integrated to new ERP system

Primary role is to manage inventory levels (value and volume) through inventory replenishment strategy and execution. This role will execute purchasing practices, in close connection with Suppliers and Branch Managers to ensure we can react quickly to changes in supply and demand. The inventory manager will be responsible for ensuring our purchases align with the product strategies set by our strategic sourcing managers within each category. Replenishment triggers will be set and monitored by the inventory manager to support and maintain healthy inventory levels across the business.

The goal of this team will be to strategically manage all aspects of supply chain through:

  • Development and implementation of forecasts using historical data and growth plans
  • Reviewing orders and system settings for data accuracy
  • Working with suppliers to mitigate delays and communicating lead times to field
  • Ensure continuity of supply and maintaining accurate inventory settings to achieve Service Level targets
  • Calculating days of supply by SKU to understand inventory position and turns

Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Responsible for inventory management, purchasing, demand planning, supplier management
  • Responsible for reviewing stock to support sales, responding to changing sales trends and seasonality
  • Responsible for establishing and cultivating a positive and professional work environment to ensure maximum productivity and quality goals are achieved
  • Analyze inventory data trends (turns/days of supply, value vs volume trends, stock vs non-stock, etc)
  • Ensure purchases algin with sourcing strategies and savings plans
  • Managing strategic program inventory while working closely with branch managers to identify stocking levels
  • Ensure an adequate supply of product to service customer needs while minimizing working inventory investment by assessing demand activity.
  • Support regional sales & marketing plans
  • Manage excess, slow moving and obsolete inventory to budget/target
  • Enter PO’s and build to maximize truck
  • Review PO to ensure accurate UOM, cost, LT & order quantities meet supplier minimums.
  • Tactical supplier management: Communicating projected demand. Report shipment discrepancies and pricing errors with follow up to receive credit or invoice. Provide key suppliers with forecasts quarterly to ensure they can meet demand. Gather supplier market trend information to help support sales projections
  • Responsible for following up on critical stock purchases to ensure on time delivery and communicate delays internally
  • Expedite POs to ensure no disruption in supply
  • Work with Accounts Payable department to reconcile vendor invoice discrepancies
  • Ensure all UOMs, Costs, Lead Times, and new products are loaded properly
  • Manage tactical supplier scorecards
  • Other tasks as required

Analysis & Reporting:

  • Turns/Days by location & PCAT
  • Stock out metrics/fill-rate
  • Shipment frequency on slow, non-moving, and obsolete
  • Excess Inventory & Reduction
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree - Supply Chain Management or related fields preferred
  • 3+ years of inventory planning experience
  • Analytical skills: basic Excel, gather and present data skills required; Advanced Excel data manipulation and analysis skills preferred
  • Strong communication
  • Ability to work under pressure and to prioritize workload to meet deadlines
