Inventory Control Specialist Job at US Ecology
Position Snapshot
The Inventory Control Specialist will need to maintain an accurate inventory of hazardous waste stored on-site and schedules waste to the operating units to ensure safe and compliant management of the waste within permitted capacity limits.
Day in the Life
- Health and safety is the #1 priority.
- Transfer containerized material/pallets from one truck to another ensuring material is segregated and secured for transportation.
- Maintain an organized work space.
- Tracks shipments for waste received at facility to be transported to another disposal location.
- Maintains accurate and updated inventory of all waste and supplies stored on site.
- Generates and analyzes inventory and waste aging reports.
- Organizes shipping paperwork.
- Coordinates shipping schedules with Transportation Team.
- Identifies and takes a role in resolving waste discrepancies and inventory-related paperwork problems.
- Ensures waste is properly segregated and stored.
- Acts as contact for outbound load discrepancies.
- Coordinates with internal personnel to resolve discrepancies and communicate resolution with receiving TSDF.
- Maintains outbound manifest files and inputting into spreadsheet.
- Performs other, related duties as assigned.
What you need to apply
- Requires a high school diploma and 2+ years of warehouse experience.
- Knowledge and understanding of current hazardous waste treatment storage and disposal facility (TSDF) practices a plus.
- Thorough knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint a plus.
- Comfort wearing a respirator and/or PPE as needed.
- Ability to pass pre-employment background checks and drug screening.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
