Inventory Control Specialist Job at Seaboard Corporation
SUMMARY: The Inventory Clerk will be responsible for performing inventory counts on Dry Goods, Ingredients, and Non-Inventory Items daily. They will perform clerical duties as assigned including completing necessary reports and using CAT2 computerized inventory system to record inventory.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or GED preferred. One-year prior experience performing inventory and cycle counts preferred. Accuracy and attention to detail are critical at all times. Basic computer skills required with the ability to operate handheld computer device.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Must be able to work well independently as well as with others. Must possess strong communications skills both verbally and written.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply mathematical applications to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form. Must be able to solve problems quickly and with good judgment.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must follow all company PPE and OSHA safety guidelines, have high attention to detail and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be able to walk or stand for at least 90% of shift on concrete flooring. Must be able to read product and shelving labels at a distance. Must be able to frequently twist, reach, bend, squat and lift up to 30 lbs. on a regular basis, occasionally lifting of up to 50 lbs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, employee will be working in a cold environment at least 50% of the shift usually at 20 degrees Fahrenheit or less. Warm wear will be provided to employee. The employee is regularly exposed to wet, cold, and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and requires the employee to wear hearing protection.
NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: Note: The hours and days of work are established as needed by operations and at the discretion of management and, while generally as shown below, may be changed (increased or decreased) by management as required.
Hours of Work: Generally, nine or more hours per day, normally five to six days per week, depending on production needs. Occasional Sunday work may be required. Flexibility with schedule required. Shift hours will generally be from 6 am to 2:30 pm but employee will occasionally be scheduled for a PM shift depending on operational needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following:
- Inventory dry goods pallets and appropriately cycle out aging product.
- Create and revise Purchase Order for on Dry Goods, Ingredients, and Non-Inventory Items.
- Use propriety CAT2 computerized inventory system to review and record inventory
- Perform cycle counts of dry goods and some ingredients
- Complete all forms and or reports accurately and timely
- Assist with other supply chain management duties as needed
- Clerical duties as assigned
- Creating weekly intercompany transfer truck orders and create Purchase Orders
- Creating non-inventory and inventory item Purchase Orders
- Back up Supply Chain Manager position as needed
- Train new Line Suppliers and work with line suppliers to keep inventory accurate
- Create SOPs for inventory processes, issuing & returning goods, and receiving
- Assist in training of Line Supplier and Receiver positions
- Assist in updating Daily Inventory Analysis Tools
- Manage Label Area and stocking of labels
- Assist in directing Monthly Dry Goods Physical Inventory Count.
- Find and analyze receiving errors to determine corrections and assist receiver in correction
- Create pallet tags and reprint as needed
- Run reconciliation report daily to investigate large discrepancies to determine what occurred and how to resolve to correct.
- Other duties as assigned
