Inventory Control Coordinator Job at Nuvance Health

Summary:
This position is accountable and responsible for the effective management and control of the Materials Management-owned inventories. Establish and maintain accuracy of the Lawson system as it pertains to inventory information, setting supply levels to adequately meet the patient and support care needs, and minimizing inventory investment.
Responsibilities:
Management, control & performance of inventory management activities for assigned inventories. Areas include Warehouse, Distribution Center, OR/MM services.
Accountable management & control of assigned inventory levels which allows for supply needs while minimizing investment in inventories.
Monitor stockouts, establish replenishment criteria, monitor turnover ratios, prepare for anticipated usage and for disaster & emergency situations.
Maintain Item Master information in Lawson System assuring accuracy of Lawson systems on hand quantities & other activities.
Interface with departments, areas, and units on inventory issues. Consult on inventory issues.
Participate in the development and implementation of short, medium, & long-range plans.
Maintain a high degree of teamwork and cooperation with other Materials Management areas, other departments, subsidiaries & units of Nuvance Health.
Participate in the planning and control of financial factors of budgets, patient charges, invoices. & related discrepancies & expenditures.
Utilize automated support system (Lawson) to gather information for the development of decisions and actions. Enhance the quality, utilization, & scope of information.
Participate productively on assigned committees, joint Danbury Hospital projects and ventures, & other activities which contribute to the benefit of Nuvance Health.
Maintain the highest degree of ethical conduct in dealings with vendors and others who provide goods & services, directly or indirectly.
Prepare and provide periodic special reports as required & requested.
Understanding & operating areas of responsibility in compliance with Nuvance Health, state, Joint Commission & federal safety policies.
Cross-train and assist, when necessary, in the Material Coordinators position.
Pick-up and deliver supplies, equipment, materials, mail, business and finance materials, banking requirements, specimen, and other related items in accordance with a required schedule, work assignment methodology or assignment of responsibilities through management.
Perform vehicle inspections to ensure safety.
Document activities in accordance with management requirements.
Requirements:
High school graduate or GED
Minimum three years of experience, preferably in inventory control/management
Knowledge/experience of automated Materials Management Systems, accounting processes, inventory control techniques, supply distribution methods
General computer literacy: Outlook, Word, Excel
Valid CT or NY Driver’s License with clean driving record
Preference given to applicants with:
Associates or Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, health care administration or related field of study
Knowledge of Lawson computer system
Location: Danbury-24 Hospital Ave., Danbury, CT
Work Type: Full-Time/40 hr.
Work Shift: M-F, 6:00am - 2:30pm

Salary Range:
$17.00 - $28.00 Hourly
Working Conditions:
Significant manual skills / motor coordination & finger dexterity
Little or no potential for occupational risk
Sedentary/light effort, may exert up to 10 lbs. force
Generally pleasant working conditions.
