Job Description:

This is a full-time position that works directly under the winemaker and will work closely with other departments on a daily basis. This individual is an important role that involves monitoring, maintaining, and overseeing all aspects of inventory including case goods, bottling materials, and tanks/barrels onsite at Destiny Ridge. Additionally, this person would be a cellarhand on the wine production team.

This position requires someone who is proficient with data entry, with a critical eye for detail, and has a passion for improving processes and systems. This person should feel comfortable working with a team, as well as on their own, and understand that attention to detail and communication is the key to ongoing success.

Core Responsibilities (included but not limited to):

Daily/Weekly

  • Input daily transfers, keg conversions, and process orders in WineDirect and third-party shipping software.
  • Record purchases, maintain database, perform physical count of inventory, and reconcile actual inventory count to computer-generated reports on a weekly, monthly and quarterly timeframe.
  • Receive, unpack, and deliver goods; re-stock items as necessary; label shelves and ensures all areas of the winery are correctly marked for specific allocations. Maintain that they stay neat and orderly (i.e. labeled pallets, third party, kegs, etc.).
  • Process and document returns as required following established procedures.
  • Process and submit invoices for payment and provide documentation for invoice approval (i.e. bill of lading, etc.).
  • Operate manual kegging line.
  • General cellar cleanup
  • Ensure all paperwork is completed from tasks assigned during shift.
  • Monitor and maintain all dry chemical levels and chemical drums.
  • Record weekly chemical usage with shift lead
  • Develop working knowledge of all cellar chemicals and their appropriate uses.
  • Responsible for but not limited to cellar, tank, and equipment sanitation.
  • Perform daily and weekly facility and equipment maintenance.
  • Perform daily and weekly tasks as required by the Production Supervisors.
  • Assisting shift lead with facility startup and shutdown
  • Verify and inspect all receivables for accuracy and resolve inconsistencies.

Monthly

  • Perform physical inventory inspections on products (as requested) to verify on-hand quantities, and/or accuracy of product descriptions or vintages.
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts throughout with monthly and quarterly cycles in accordance with internal inventory management processes and procedures.
  • Monitor and maintain current inventory depletion levels, process transfers, track orders, investigate problems, and submit monthly reports on all irregularities.

Ongoing

  • Responsible for the overall inventory management control and system accuracy across wine production.
  • Understand and work with a variety of systems such as WineDirect, third party shipping software, InnoVint, Keg Shoe, etc.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely with Winemaker and other management.
  • Follow all written and verbal Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and adhere to all safe cellar practices.
  • Maintain and use proper PPE at all times.
  • Ensure all tanks are clearly labeled with the appropriate information.

Other Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in tasting room and vineyard tours as needed.
  • Research new technology and alternative methods of efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and 10 key by touch.
  • Accurate data-entry skills.
  • Effective verbal/written communication skills in carrying out job duties with various departments and levels of management.
  • Must be detail-oriented and have strong organizational skills.
  • Basic mathematical skills including knowledge of general inventory principles.
  • Requires broad knowledge of inventory control systems and warehousing functions.
  • Creative problem-solving and innovative approaches to complex problems.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds, bend, stretch, and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Self-starter who is capable of working through defined projects with a “take charge” attitude.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.50 - $18.25 per hour
