The Inventory Analyst is responsible for managing, maintaining, accounting and controlling inventory processes and analytical reporting. The position includes analysis and development of effective costing and controls. The position would include development of a variety of standard & ad-hoc KPI’s surrounding production (a car dismantling process), variance analysis, and a wide range of inventory related reports useful in maximizing operational results.
The Inventory analyst will be tasked with review and continuous improvement of key controls surrounding reliable, accurate inventory accounting and management.
To succeed in this role, the Inventory analyst should have a natural analytical way of thinking and be able to explain difficult concepts to non-technical users (collaborating with both finance & operations team).

Essential Duties:
- Evaluate and impact business performance by analyzing past results; performing variance analysis with goals, plan and forecasts; identifying trends and making recommendations for improvements
- Develop costing methods that help operations and finance identify and maximize areas of efficiency.
- Guide cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures
- Develop & communicate operational metrics for production.
- Participate in manufacturing planning, logistics and operations from a financial perspective.
- Responsible for daily cost and general ledger accounting and manage the month-end accounting close for inventory including: operational management reporting, journal entries, account analysis and standard vs actual reconciliation.
- Create recommendations to be presented to management and executives
- Understand product profitability to identify improved purchasing patterns by year, make and model
- Ability to dissect big data sets into meaningful information
- Strong quantitative and analytical competency
- Financial modeling experience, excellent spreadsheet and financial analysis skills; using macros and pivot tables
- BA, BS, degree required (Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance). Advanced degree or certification preferred; CMA or MBA or other related progression.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to achieve company goals
- Results-oriented contributor must demonstrate business acumen and resourcefulness
- Advanced Excel level skills (V/X lookups, pivot tables, and advanced excel macros)
- Operational finance knowledge and problem resolution skills
- Outstanding communications, analytical, planning, data gathering, critical thinking and teamwork skills
- 3 to 5 years of Inventory Management or other relevant experience
- Ability to work under pressure
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; be comfortable interacting with executive-level management
- Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing publications
