Are you well-organized, motivated, and a team player? Perma-Fix is looking for an Internal Staff Auditor for our Corporate Office in Atlanta, GA. Candidate must be analytical, control and process-oriented, dependable, and professional with excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a positive attitude. The position reports to the Director of Technical Accounting and Finance.

This is an on-site position with ability to work either part-time or full-time. Full-time staff have the ability to flex hours in order to take off work every other Friday.

Essential Functions:

Internal Audit

• Work in conjunction with outsourced internal audit department personnel (CPA firm)
• Assess and document risks for business and financial processes
• Document, test, and report on internal controls over financial reporting (SOX 404) including general controls over information technology
• Assist in planning, performing, and reporting on financial and operational audit engagements including the following key responsibilities:

o Perform walkthroughs of accounting and transaction processes and controls

o Develop and maintain process flows, gap analyses, and narratives

o Develop and maintain testing templates

o Select, receive, and document test samples, and perform substantive and attribute test procedures

o Report audit deficiencies

• Liaise with external auditors to assist in their independent assessment of operating effectiveness (SOX 404(b)) and reconcile discrepancies when applicable
• Identify ineffective policies, procedures, and processes or documentation thereof, research issues, and make recommendations to management for improvement
• Perform post-audit reviews of internal audit workpapers and recommend process improvements
• Perform ad-hoc analyses as requested

Compensation Ranges: full-time salary from $60K to $70K; part-time hourly rate from $35 to $40.
