Consultant Role & Responsibilities:

The Consultant is expected to exhibit the motivation and ability to conduct hands-on analysis, supply critical insight, and to produce high-quality work products. Consultants interface directly with company leadership to understand and refine issues, learn about Starr’s insurance businesses and markets, and develop hypotheses that best elucidate successful solutions.

• Work with senior leadership across the enterprise to address the most imperative business matters through collaborative thinking and strategic change.
• Directly contribute to project work such as framing hypotheses, conducting research, data collection and analysis, and identifying unique and relevant insights.
• Support senior team members and internal client partners in the successful delivery of project work products from inception to final deliverable(s).
• Assume responsibility in advancing MC’s best practices and methodologies.

Skills & Experience:

Starr Management Consulting seeks candidates with a sense of curiosity and ambition who can excel through collaboration. The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:

• Advanced degree, preferably an MBA from a top 20 business school.
• 4-7 years of experience in client-facing management consulting/corporate strategy; financial services and/or insurance experience is a plus.
• Demonstrable proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint as well as experience with other applicable tools (e.g., Lucidchart, Salesforce, Power BI).
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills to solve complex problems by developing creative and structured solutions.
• Outstanding communication skills: Writing, producing, and presenting deliverables.
• Program / project management skills, working with multiple stakeholders and dependencies.
• Willingness and ability to travel, including internationally.
