Consultant Role & Responsibilities:
The Consultant is expected to exhibit the motivation and ability to conduct hands-on analysis, supply critical insight, and to produce high-quality work products. Consultants interface directly with company leadership to understand and refine issues, learn about Starr’s insurance businesses and markets, and develop hypotheses that best elucidate successful solutions.
- Work with senior leadership across the enterprise to address the most imperative business matters through collaborative thinking and strategic change.
- Directly contribute to project work such as framing hypotheses, conducting research, data collection and analysis, and identifying unique and relevant insights.
- Support senior team members and internal client partners in the successful delivery of project work products from inception to final deliverable(s).
- Assume responsibility in advancing MC’s best practices and methodologies.
Skills & Experience:
Starr Management Consulting seeks candidates with a sense of curiosity and ambition who can excel through collaboration. The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:
- Advanced degree, preferably an MBA from a top 20 business school.
- 4-7 years of experience in client-facing management consulting/corporate strategy; financial services and/or insurance experience is a plus.
- Demonstrable proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint as well as experience with other applicable tools (e.g., Lucidchart, Salesforce, Power BI).
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills to solve complex problems by developing creative and structured solutions.
- Outstanding communication skills: Writing, producing, and presenting deliverables.
- Program / project management skills, working with multiple stakeholders and dependencies.
- Willingness and ability to travel, including internationally.

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in New York, Starr Insurance Companies is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets: experience and training: licensure and certifications: and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $130,000-160,000
