Internal Communications Manager Job at National University
Position Summary
Under the guidance of and in partnership with strategic leadership, create comprehensive, informative and inspiring internal communications plans for National University Business Units. With the goal of ensuring employees are informed, motivated and engaged, execute approved internal communication plans across all applicable channels and tactics, including intranet, website, email, bulletin, social media and newsletter announcements.
Execute a robust, integrated internal communications plan that includes informing employees of Human Resources, Marketing and System wide processes and campaigns, high lighting the NUS vision, mission and values. Develop communications aimed at internal stakeholders with a focus on projects that intersect with internal-external communication priorities, as determined by the following departments: Public Relations, Human Resources, Marketing, Office of the President and Office of the Chancellor.
Essential Functions:
- Partners with cross-departmental teams, Human Resources, Marketing, Public Relations, and Office of the President for collaboration on communication.
- Delivers communication support to departments and functional areas and partner with Human Resources to align employee communications and messaging to corporate strategy and objectives.
- Develops an internal communications strategy strengthening inter-departmental communications across the organization in alignment with Public Relations, Marketing and Human Resources communication strategies.
- Creates content development with employee-focused communication originating from various departments and levels of leadership.
- Participates in institutional and Human Resources driven special events aimed at employee engagement aligned with Human Resources objective to increase employee engagement and participation.
- Manages a system-wide calendar of employee information, content opportunities based on various institutional priorities.
- Establishes communication vehicles, cadence and guidelines to centralize internal communications.

Requirements:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related field, required; and, three (3) to five (5) years relevant experience in a communications role, preferable internal; or, equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Ability to identify and develop content and communications reflecting institutional messaging priorities.
- Advanced knowledge of project management and tools such as Basecamp, Trello or Teamwork, a plus; highly organized with solid time management and prioritization skills, including managing events and campaigns aimed at employee engagement and measuring results.
- Advanced use of computers and Microsoft Office Suite Applications such as Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individual of constituencies in a diverse community. Excellent and flexible writing skills, particularly for internal audiences.
- Work independently and foster a cooperative spirit within a large and/or small team of diverse cultures, while working in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines and frequently changing priorities.
Travel: Up to 10% travel required
Candidate receiving offers will be offered a salary/pay rate commensurate with experience that vary based on a candidate’s qualifications, skills, and competencies. Absent exceptional circumstances, candidates will be offered a salary within this range for this position. Compensation Range:
Annual Salary: $63,720.00 - $86,020.00
