Primary Objectives for this Role

Our ideal team member will provide strong and detailed administrative and clerical support to the Sales & Design Department. Under the guidance of their supervisor, the Interior Design Assistant will be expected to manage design projects, generate professional and detailed drawings, space planning, floor plans, and elevations as necessary to facilitate concepts and designs. They will support the Sales team by sourcing materials, products, and pricing during the estimating process as well as during the procurement process. The Interior Design Assistant will support the Sales & Design team by ensuring proper scheduling and a prompt feedback loop regarding material orders, conditions, issues, or delays. They may also act as a liaison between the Client, Sales & Design Team, Project Manager, and suppliers helping to ensure frequent communication and relevant updates.

• Assist in managing design projects including but not limited to:
• Manage multiple deadlines and projects scopes simultaneously
• Become proficient in Buildertrend
• Track and enter billable client design time into BuilderTrend
• Works with Designer to ensure all design hours are within billable quote
• Maintain accurate project action item lists
• Obtain Vendor quotes, finish samples.
• Manage and track procurement of samples, materials, and other items
• Generate professional and detailed drawings, schematic designs, space planning, floor plans, and elevations to facilitate concepts and designs using Auto-CAD
• Maintain a professional manner and experience in all settings
• Attends weekly team meetings
• Performs other duties as assigned

Key Skills & Experience

• Graduate of accredited Interior Design program
• 2+ years prior work at an interior design firm
• Passion for Design
• Professional, confident, creative and a high level of positive energy
• Ability to read and decipher and follow building plans
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Excellent follow-up with suppliers, and with the internal team
• High attention to detail
• Knowledge of construction methods and OSHA construction regulations
• Technology
• Proficient in email communications
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Proficient in AutoCAD
• Experience with Photoshop
• 3d Programs i.e. Revit, Sketch Up, 3ds Max
