Job Description

Summary: Seeking an individual with supervisory and leadership experience, as well as strong mental health clinical training and experience to lead a team of 3-4 therapists in implementing Multisystemic Therapy (MST). MST is a well-researched community based treatment model directed at youth involved in criminal activity and their family. Duties include clinical and administrative supervision for therapists on team, liaison with key collaborating agencies and with leadership inside the provider organization, providing ongoing evaluation and staff development for therapists, and interfacing with MST expert consultants. Must be available to support therapists implementing MST 24 hours per day, 7 days per week with backup from other agency supervisory staff. Specific experience in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Structural Family Therapy, Strategic Family Therapy and behaviorally-based marital and drug treatment therapy preferred. Two-three years of clinical supervisory-level experience preferred. Salary is $67,000 annually.

Under the supervision of the Director of Youth & Family Mental Health Services, the Intensive Family Therapy Supervisor is responsible for the overall clinical operations of the MST Program, including supervision of MST Therapist, budget, and required state reporting. The program includes a team of highly skilled Family Therapist that are trained in providing Multi-Systemic Therapy (MST). The Supervisor will be responsible for leading the Therapist; Therapist work in the home, school, and community to provide caregivers with the tools they need to transform the lives of troubled youth.

Bluebonnet Trails Community Services’ mission is to enhance personal growth through a valued system of care designed to improve the health and independence of the persons we serve. Supervision of the Therapist is on a daily basis to ensure appropriate services are provided including hiring, onboarding, and termination recommendations. Additionally, management of the Therapist schedules to ensure appropriate daily scheduling, and data entry is accurate and timely. The Supervisor will also manage the MST Program on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 coverage. The Supervisor will provide direction on family/youth issues, crisis issues or casework issues; and providing staff assistance in the Director’s absence. The Supervisor will lead weekly team collaboration for the promotion of person-centered, and clinically appropriate, care to youth and their families. Monthly documented individual supervision and team meetings are required. The Supervisor is responsible for keeping staff updated with the most current trainings to fulfill their positions, including the coordination with the MST Training Program. These responsibilities will entail some travel between agency sites. Must demonstrate an ability to interact effectively with a variety of agency personnel, both interagency and in the community. If supervisor is bilingual, supervisor will also be responsible for assisting with translation. This position within this site requires an aptitude for working with people in a medical setting that requires site consultation and assessment/treatment recommendations frequently throughout a workday. The Supervisor will additionally follow the consultation/supervision guidelines as set by the MST Program consultants.

Along with providing clinical support for the Team, the Supervisor may be responsible for providing direct services. The direct services that this position may provide includes intake, crisis intervention, case management services, and counseling. The position will also assist in ensuring that programs adhere to contractual and agency guidelines. This position is a piece of one discipline within a multidisciplinary team and will be working closely with the individuals and families they serve and as a consultant to other staff.
