CURRENT VACANCY IS IN THE JUVENILE COURT
Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED (course work in business, public administration, criminal justice, law, or related area is preferred) and two or more years of legal or court related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Specific License or Certification Required: Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver's license and Affirmation as a sworn Deputy Clerk of the Court.
Specific Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities:
Requires knowledge of Legal terminology related to area of assignment. Federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations governing court procedures. Practices and procedures of the Fulton County Court System. General office practices, procedures, equipment, and technology.
Requires skill in Organizing and prioritizing work. Using spreadsheet, database, word processing, presentation, and other software. Entering data. Building sustainable working relationships with other County personnel, officials, and the public. Providing high quality, customer-focused service. Communicating effectively with coworkers, supervisor, and the public. Generating enthusiasm and support for program objectives.

Purpose of Classification:
The purpose of this classification is to monitor the intake work of the courts.
Essential Functions:
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Processes legal matters ensuring conformity to law and established court guidelines. Maintains legally mandated logs of intakes and releases. Verifies identification and custody of each intake. Responds to inquiries, by telephone and in person, from attorneys and the public regarding court calendars, procedures, and intake. Reviews weekly court calendar to ensure accuracy.

Work is typically performed in an office-like environment. May work in high conflict situations and with difficult, sometimes dangerous parties. Positions in this class typically require talking, hearing, seeing, sitting, standing, walking, driving, bending, reaching, fingering, lifting, and carrying. Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.
