Instrument Mechanic Job at Gana-A'Yoo, Limited
Kaiyuh Services, LLC is seeking an Instrument Mechanic to join our team. This position installs, repairs, maintains, and adjusts indicating, recording, telemetering, and controlling instruments used to measure and control variables, such as pressure, flow, temperature, motion, force, and chemical composition, using hand tools and precision instruments.
Location: Yuma, AZ
FLSA Classification: Non-exempt, hourly
Primary Duties include:
- Disassembles malfunctioning instruments
- Examines and tests mechanism and circuitry for defects
- Troubleshoots equipment in or out of control system and replaces or repairs defective parts
- Reassembles instrument and tests assembly for conformance with specifications, using instruments, such as potentiometer, resistance bridge, manometer, and pressure gauge
- Inspects instruments periodically and makes minor calibration adjustments to insure functioning within specified standards
- May adjust and repair final control mechanisms, such as automatically controlled valves or positioners, and may calibrate instruments according to established standards
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of two years of experience in an industrial Instrument maintenance, or completion of an apprenticeship program or technical trade school
- Excellent customer service skills, including verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Good planning and organizational skills
- Basic analytical and creative problem-solving skills
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn
- Promptness and timeliness in completing assigned tasks
- Ability to pass a background and drug screening
- Experience in Alaska Native Corporations preferred but not required
Preferred Qualifications:
- ISA Certified or the ability to obtain an ISA certification in a timely manner
- College degree in the electrical or instrumentation field
WORKING ENVIRONMENT: The majority of work is performed in a field setting with some work in an office setting and interfaces with a wide variety of people with differing functions, personalities and abilities. During work in the field setting, the candidate will be exposed to an environment typical of the southwest desert. The candidate may also at times be required to work around chemicals typical of a water treatment facility.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work is generally sedentary, requiring routine walking, standing, bending and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds.
