The Department of Agriculture, Bureau of Weights and Measures, is seeking a dedicated, responsible person with knowledge in weights and measures inspections, with a valid Pennsylvania Class A or B CDL Driver's license. The incumbent in this position Inspects and conducts accuracy tests on weighing and measuring devices used in commercial transactions; inspects packages and commodities packaged, sold, or offered for sale by weight, measure, or count; audits inspections of Certified Examiners of Weights and Measures; investigates allegations of fraud and abuse in sales of commodities sold by weight, measure, or count; takes enforcement action that includes marking the device as rejected, temporarily or permanently removing devices from service, or prosecutes through the use of citations, criminal and civil penalties or administrative proceedings; verifies price accuracy of PLU and/or UPC scanning systems; to otherwise verify compliance with applicable laws and regulations; participates in required technical training and interacts with industry representatives and the public; conducts biofuel and fuel quality assessments.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment.
- Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
- This position will be home headquartered in Lackawanna, Luzerne or Wyoming Counties. In addition to these counties, work duties will also be performed in counties of: Bradford, Susquehanna, Sullivan, Wayne, Pike, Monroe and Carbon.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

- Four years of public contact work, including one year of experience in weights and measures inspections; and graduation from high school; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the applicant with the requisite knowledge and skills and abilities with weights and measures inspections.
- This position requires possession of a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) supplemented by either a Class A or Class B endorsement.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
