Postion Summary:
The inside sales rep provides sales and service centers with order fulfillment & supply chain services that are provided with enthusiasm, empathy, knowledge of Swagelok’s capabilities, and an understanding of the customers’ needs. The inside sales rep provides solutions that demonstrate our brand promise, our full capabilities, and our focus on customer satisfaction. They participate in cross functional projects or initiatives to support the business strategies of the department. This position will act as a liaison between Swagelok and the sales and service center for solutions related to order fulfillment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Competent in all inside sales work processes and procedures. Can process all standard transactions, answer standard customer inquiries, navigate internal resources, host and actively participate in department meetings. Can effectively train new associates on standard transactions and product offerings.
- Understands fundamental supply chain concepts, applies them to departmental transactional work and understands how their position affects the greater supply chain and flow of goods to the customer.
- Ability to utilize customer service concepts to accomplish business objectives with limited oversight. Takes ownership of customer issues and independently navigates the internal organization to create solutions for customers.
- Basic knowledge of service group product offering, material designations, component levels, and value stream hierarchy as it relates to customer service. Competent in reviewing bill of material structure.
- Manages own time and participates in additional project efforts. Proficiently uses existing tools to accomplish multiple tasks of moderate to difficult scope with limited oversight.
- Has strong working knowledge of fundamental systems and tools. Can identify basic business system issues, conduct basic trouble shooting, and communicate with internal resources making recommendations for improvement for non-standard issues.
- Communicates in a clear and concise manner to effectively convey information. Effectively adapts message content and format to match audience with consideration of situational significance. Has the ability to communicate cross functionally with sales & service centers and leadership.
- Has a fundamental understanding of Swagelok's business strategies, corporate initiatives and an understanding of the sales and service centers key customers and business model.
- Demonstrates creative thinking when approaching tasks, problems, or opportunities. Can challenge current processes and thinks outside the box.
- Establishes relationships with key contacts both internally and externally. Communicates key activities with team members along with an action plan. Works with others within team to establish best practices, opportunities for product knowledge, and process efficiencies.
- Recognizes the importance of change, introduces new ideas for others to act on and positively participates in change projects. Capable of permanently or as needed shifting to other service groups to support the fluctuating demands of our business.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and knowledgeable in SAP.
- Other duties as assigned.
Scope:
- Occasional travel between Swagelok locations, sales and service centers, and Customers.
- Service normally operates between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM weekdays.
- Occasional weekend and/or holidays hours are also required.
- The department manager / supervisor approves the work schedule.
Experience required: Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of relevant supply chain/customer service experience. Bachelor's degree preferred for advancement opportunities. Capable of learning position through on the job training both in office and remotely.

Working Conditions:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
