Altitude Payroll is one of the fastest growing Payroll and HR services in the Denver metro area. We are looking to expand our sales team to create a larger footprint and become the premiere provider of payroll and HR services to Denver and the surrounding areas. The Inside Sales Consultant is responsible for business development and meeting new account quotas through a variety of networking, partnerships, virtual prospecting, and traditional sales techniques. This position reports directly to the owner and president of Altitude Payroll. The position compensation includes a base salary plus commission and performance bonuses based on meeting quarterly sales unit and revenue quotas.

Major Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Achieve Unit and Revenue Expectations per individual business plan
  • Develop sales skills and maintain a comprehensive understanding of Altitude Payroll product offering to optimize sales results; remain up-to-date with new product initiatives, services, industry trends and other relevant information of interest to customers.
  • Schedule and conduct meetings with prospects through telephone, targeted emails, LinkedIn, and referral sources to maintain a full and consistent sales funnel.
  • Develop strategic partnerships with CPAs, Bookkeepers, Banking professionals, and other professional industry leaders to create referral relationships.
  • Prospect small and medium-sized businesses to sell payroll and human resource products and services through cold calling, foot prospecting, and networking activities.
  • Advise white label partners and CPAs concerning sales and advertising promotions and techniques.
  • Analyze market trends and sales data to assist in sales promotions for present and future business.
  • Represent Altitude Payroll at trade shows and association meetings to promote services.
  • Coordinate between customer service, technical service, implementation, and other departments or white label partners as appropriate.
  • Perform system demonstrations to accurately promote payroll processing, compliance, HR, and labor systems and services to prospects in order to establish needs based solutions.
  • Collect and submit all documentation, signatures, and required information to successfully implement new accounts on Altitude Payroll’s services.
  • Utilize Zoho CRM for making phone calls, keeping accurate notes, setting follow up reminders, and managing the sales cycle for your prospects.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive list and profile (including electronic copy of quotes written) of key accounts and contacts (direct and non-direct) Altitude Payroll CRM.
  • Limited travel throughout sales territory as client needs warrant
  • Enter daily and weekly activity in a timely manner for activity reporting to Owner or President.
  • May be responsible for assisting in training other/new sales representatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Owner or President.

Minimum Job Expectations:

  • Must make 50-75 phone calls per day to build and maintain pipeline
  • You must hold a minimum of 7 new prospect appointments per week (Initial meetings, presentations, or proposal delivery)
  • Must attend minimum of 3 virtual or in-person networking events per week to meet new contacts for referrals and prospects as clients
  • Must sell a minimum of 1 new account per week
  • Must make 1 new CPA/Bookkeeper contact per week that can be a referral source for new business



Required Experience

  • Minimum 2 years payroll sales experience meeting or exceeding sales quotas
  • Must be self-starter and self-motivated
  • Ability to meet sales quotas with little supervision
  • Ability to influence and persuade to achieve desired outcomes
  • Attendance and presentations at public events in a professional manner in line with Altitude Payroll’s values.
  • Ability to develop value-added relationships with CPAs, Bookkeepers, and other professionals for referrals
  • Excellent cold calling skills and ability to handle and overcome rejections
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent of education and experience
