Tacoma Screw Products is a distribution company that sells industrial supplies, fasteners and tools to contractors, small and large businesses and individual retail customers since 1946.
We have a unique blend of Wholesale and Retail Customers. Because of this, are not open during the typical 'Retail Hours'. We are closed on nights, Sunday, and Holidays.

We are seeking customer service sales people who are driven to be the best in their field. They love to interact with individuals who want to get the best quality products at the best prices from the most knowledgeable staff. This position will be based out of our Corporate Offices located at 2001 Center Street in Tacoma.

A day in the life:

Our Inside/Telephone Sales Team will field incoming sales calls and emails to assist customers with the selection, application, and purchase of a wide variety of fasteners, industrial hardware, tools, and maintenance and shop supplies. Typical industries include transportation-heavy equipment, maintenance and repair departments, sand/gravel pits, and machine shops. Providing excellent customer service, solutions for our customers, and following up on outstanding customer orders is key to the success in this role.

Inside Sales responsibilities are included but not limited to:

  • Writing Orders in SX from phone calls/emails/outside sales
  • Order status
  • Product Quotes
  • Add or removal of products to/from orders
  • Credits/Returns
  • Website Account Registration Setup/Issues
  • Shipping questions/Tracking orders
  • Facilitating short picks and backorders
  • Product knowledge questions
  • Facilitating customer complaints
  • Outside sales assistance
  • Identifying potential outside sales and strategic sales opportunities
  • Gathering initial sales and customer data by asking specific questions
  • Qualifying customer for next step (telephones sales, outside sales rep, strategic account or ecommerce)
  • Working with sales managers to assign appropriate pricing matrix

Required Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least 1 year of Retail Experience; in an industrial setting
  • Solid math, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Computer literacy
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Must be well organized and self-motivated
  • Strong fastener and industrial supply product knowledge
  • Infor SX.e knowledge is desired
  • Internet savvy
  • General understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word
  • Good phone and email etiquette
  • Ability to learn and pick up skills fast
  • Ability to multi-task (will be using multiple different programs and software)
  • Familiar with ecommerce websites and purchasing products online
