The Charge Nurse has responsibility and accountability for assuring the delivery of quality nursing care for a designated patient and/or group of patients in accordance with individual patient needs, physician orders, hospital and departmental policies, NEC’s PSO Guidelines, Indiana Nurse Practice Act, and the ANA Code of Ethics. Utilizing job performance standards, the Charge Nurse/RN provides clinical nursing leadership with quality care and a research-based practice to achieve mutually agreed upon goals. Maintains confidentiality of information regarding patients, significant others and all health care team members. Participates in efforts to improve nursing practice throughout organization. The Charge Nurse will independently evaluate the job skills and work performance of the clinical team on a continual basis to make sure that all documents and skills of staff are current according to NEC policies and scope of practice as it relates to the clinical population we serve.
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing with either a BSN or an ASN. Experience: Prefer at least one year of experience in mental health-related nursing. Licenses: Must provide current RN license by the Indiana State Board of Nursing.
