This role in summary

Whirlpool is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Inclusion & Diversity Manager for our Benton Harbor, MI, location. This position is a critical member of the Inclusion and Diversity Team. You will work closely with the Senior Director, Inclusion & Diversity to ensure the engagement, development and retention of diverse talent.

The person in this role will be focused on end-to-end engagement of diverse talent, managing early career programs and internal mentorship programs, which were created as part of Whirlpool’s Racial Equality Pledge. Additionally, they will partner closely with HR Business Partners and Organization & Strategy Leads to monitor development needs of key talent and ensure these needs are met.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Work across multiple functions to lead, contribute and/or oversee the following areas:
    • End-to-end management and continuous improvement of Whirlpool’s P@TH Internship program, designed to attract early career talent and strengthen the talent pipeline;
    • Partner with the Global Product Organizations and Consumer Services to ensure successful implementation of apprenticeship programs, quantifying the success of these programs;
    • Create and implement a strategy to ensure conversion of early career talent to full-time professional roles;
    • Ensure a robust onboarding experience for new diverse employees;
    • End-to-end management and continuous improvement of Whirlpool’s Black Mentorship program for existing talent;
    • Partner with talent professionals to ensure fair and equitable processes for above-mentioned programs;
    • Partner with HR colleagues to ensure all key diverse talent have a career plan, individual development plan, and monitor the completion of these plans;
    • Maintain, track, and report on goals, progress, and program metrics;
    • Manage internal and external senior stakeholders, including relationship building and communication;
    • Guide, develop and deliver creative communication campaigns to communicate value and engage talent;
    • Serve as a credible and trusted advisor to stakeholders on effective and leading-edge methods in diversity, equity and inclusion

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of program management or project management experience

Preferred skills and experiences

  • Master’s degree
  • 2+ years leading diversity, equity and inclusion programs
  • Experience engaging and building relationships across multiple functional areas to achieve results
  • Experience planning and managing relationships and events for internal and external partners
  • Experience in inclusive talent management practices
  • Experience developing and utilizing talent and diversity analytics and reporting
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute inclusion & diversity strategies that meet business needs

Additional information

Employees in this role can work a hybrid schedule of three core days in office and two days remote. This enables employees to come together to collaborate in-person and gives employees the added flexibility to work remotely
