The supply chain is responsible for the network between the university and its suppliers to procure and distribute essential products to the university customers both internally and externally. Receiving and Distribution administers and operates the organization’s central warehouses and stores. This team accounts for all materials and supplies, assuring proper receipt, storage and management of inbound supplies, materials, and equipment, as well as appropriate processing, packaging and distribution to other areas within the organization. Record-keeping, tracking and reporting are other key functions.

This position manages the College of Dentistry Instrument Management Services (IMS), Storeroom / Shipping and Receiving/Mailroom and personnel; develops, implements and enforces inventory management policies and procedures; recruits, interviews, hires, trains, onboards, coaches, counsels, manages others directly and indirectly; conducts performance evaluations; develops training materials; ensures satisfactory customer service for internal and external customers; leads and collaborates on team projects; provides backup supervisory support for both Dispensing and Central Sterilization units; interacts with preclinical Course Directors, Production Laboratory personnel, students; supports Clinic Administration, Central Sterilization, Dispensing, and other college units with the planning and coordination of all purchasing of dental supplies and equipment; approves requests for quotes from multiple vendors to maintain the budget; monitors use of inventory and service contracts; utilizes electronic healthcare order system and internal policy / procedures for obtaining and tracking materials; provides support for clinic courses, student licensing exams, and other college events; coordinates special event deliveries; works independently to problem solve and resolve conflicts when necessary; oversees daily stocking of the student clinics including supply rooms; oversees the daily cleaning and stocking of the student clinic laboratories; oversees / conducts cycle counts and verifies results, looks for improvements in product flow, adheres to and models the safety culture of the college and works to build team(s) and ensures team cohesiveness in all aspects of the position.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Candidate must be able to: work nights and/or weekends as needed for college events

This position requires lifting/pulling/pushing up to 70lbs, bending/twisting/turning/reaching below knees and above shoulders on a regular basis; standing/ walking for periods of time. Candidate must have the use of both hands; Other specific requirements include excellent hand-eye coordination, visual acuity, and communication/language development. Individuals in this position may be exposed to the following: chemical hazards (skin irritants).

Required: Bachelor’s degree, plus 3 years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience in inventory and supply management in a healthcare facility, supervisory, and demonstrated leadership skills, OSHA and infection control, utilizing Microsoft Office in a business environment to generate a variety of reports and documents from basic to complex; excellent interpersonal skills; ability to consistently contribute to and work within a fast-paced team environment; excellent verbal and written communications skills; excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.

Desired: 4 to 8 years of relevant experience; OSU purchasing experience preferred; knowledge of dental supplies and equipment desired.

The Targeted Hiring Range for this position is $22.16 to $29.57, commensurate with education and experience.
