The LeFrak Center at Lakeside inside Prospect Park is now accepting resumes for Ice Maintenance personnel. The LeFrak Center at Lakeside is Brooklyn’s activity destination featuring year-round activities including ice skating, roller skating, dining, water play, biking, boating, family-friendly classes and special events.

Select candidates will have the opportunity to work at multiple ice rinks in and around New York City.

Summary of Position:

The Ice Maintenance/Olympia/Zamboni Driver position is one of precision, detail, safety, responsibility, attentiveness, and communication. It is of the utmost importance to provide our guests with a safe and controlled skating environment, ensuring their positive experience at our ice rinks. An energetic and positive attitude, communication skills, attention to detail, organizational skills, time management, and the ability to multi-task are all essential qualities.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Daily opening meeting with MOD prior to your shift to discuss all weather/ice conditions, daily programming, and special events.
• Ice Maintenance, including but not limited to Ice Bear or Zamboni operations, edging, flooding, painting, etc. Ensure detailed logs and recordings related to the same.
• General maintenance of Ice making machines and their related components, including but not limited to daily and preventative maintenance. Ensure detailed logs and recordings related to the same.
• Follow all safety programs and protocols associated with the operation and maintenance of ice making equipment.
• Knowledge of and ability to operate machinery, e.g., forklift, aerial lift, scissor lift.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 80 lbs. and the ability to work on lifts at heights upwards of 50 ft.
• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in all temperatures, including extreme conditions, e.g. storms, extreme cold.
• Production and execution of special events are additionally required.
• Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality.

Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of ice maintenance experience.
• Experience with Olympia preferred.
• Flexibility - The overall expectation from every employee is to be a part of a unified team. All team members assist with all aspects of daily operations, when and where required. Lakeside is a very fluid environment consisting of programming, events, etc., and flexibility of schedule is also a key component, such as the ability to work all shifts as required;
• Energetic – The volume of programming, events, etc., requires a fast paced and detailed approach to all tasks;
• Discipline – All team members are expected to adhere to a strict dress code and be well groomed at all times.
• Communication – Excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills are required in dealing with guests and fellow team members.
• Punctuality – Team members are required to arrive 15 minutes prior to their shift and be properly attired and ready to work at the beginning of their shift.

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
