Ice Cream Social- Ice Cream Production Team Member

BACKGROUND
Ice Cream Social’s production kitchen is currently located in Tacoma, WA with our scoop shops located in Point Ruston, Proctor and Hilltop. We make handcrafted ice cream using natural and local ingredients and put a lot of love and care into our recipes. Ice Cream Social also has many wholesale accounts, so our production team stays busy!

We are now accepting online applications for an Ice Cream Production team member to work in our production kitchen in Tacoma. Help bring joy and smiles to our customers by making the best ice cream in town!

POSITION OVERVIEW
The team member will work in our production facility and assist our Production Manager in the production of ice cream, prep ingredients, keep the kitchen stocked, organized, and clean, and assist with duties as assigned.

DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Follow and practice safe health code standards per Tacoma Pierce County Health Department and WSDA regulations
• Understand and adhere to Pierce County’s COVID-19 health guidelines
• Organize kitchen equipment and ingredients
• Chop, prep, prepare ingredients for ice cream
• Make ice cream, fill containers, transport to appropriate freezers
• Restock ingredients and replace equipment as necessary
• Ensure equipment and kitchen is kept thoroughly clean and sanitized daily

SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS

• This is part-time position, 25-36 hours a week, with potential for more
• Hours may vary due to cyclical nature of the business
• Schedule to be determined based on availability

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Must be 18 years of age due to the hour requirements and possible night shifts
• Must have reliable transportation to get you to and from work on time

DESIRED QUALITIES and EXPERIENCE

• Experience working in a kitchen highly preferred
• Hard work ethic, self motivated, takes initiative
• Takes direction and feedback well
• Has hustle, can move quickly and efficiently
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Takes pride in their work
• Ability to perform tasks that require heavy lifting (up to 50lbs), standing on feet for long periods of time, and moving about a kitchen
• Ability to walk in and out of temperature extremes in our freezers

COMPENSATION

• Hourly pay flexible depending on experience
• Sick time benefits per Washington state law (1 hour for every 40 hours worked)
