Ice Cream Freezer Order Picker Job at Van Leeuwen Ice Cream LLC
Van Leeuwen Ice Cream is hiring a full-time Ice Cream Order Picker to join our Warehouse team based out of Brooklyn. This position is spends a majority of the time working in a freezer setting. This is a great opportunity for a highly experienced individual to work closely with the fast growing team of Van Leeuwen Ice Cream as we embark on our next stage of growth. The ideal candidate is someone who has experience in picking/packing (working with frozen goods is a plus!), is a self-starter, and can thrive in a fast-paced environment (and loves ice cream!).
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for picking and staging ice cream orders for our retail stores

Examine shipment contents and compare with Transfer Orders to verify accuracy

Preparation of small package shipments as well as larger, palletized shipments

Our Storage freezers are kept at -20 degrees and your day will be spent packing orders, and organizing stock inside of these freezers

Organize freezer space on a continual basis

Maintain a clean, efficient, and safe work space and facility

Heavy lifting as well as long periods of standing will be required

Follow company protocols and safety rules

Effectively communicate with other team members and management

Maintain and count inventory as needed and instructed
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Previous Warehouse experience required

Previous experience with electric pallet jack and or forklifts

Be able to work 2pm - 11pm Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and possibly one more day during busy season

Ability to effectively work well as part of a team and autonomously; great organization

Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment
- Exceptionally high standards for cleanliness
