Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County (AWL) may be the place for you! Our humane department is seeking a part-time humane agent to investigate suspected cases of animal cruelty, neglect, and abandonment around Trumbull County.
AWL is a 53-year-old nonprofit organization serving the animals of Trumbull County and beyond. In the last three years, our organization has grown by 25% and we are entering a dynamic time of growth and change. We are a team of fun, animal-loving, committed individuals who take great pride in the work we do.
This position offers approximately 50% of your time on the road and in the community. There is a huge education component in which you would work with pet owners to educate them on basic animal care and general animal conditions and aliments. The other 50% of the position is sent on report writing, working with local courts, the AWL prosecutor, and other AWL staff to successfully file charges when warranted.
The position can be physically demanding and does require regular interaction with animals of various temperaments. You must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record, be a strong written and verbal communicator, and able to complete the required Ohio Humane Agent Training and Certification and be sworn in by the Trumbull County Probate Court for this position.
