Description
Our Substance Use Disorder Program Licensure Branch is looking for motivated and caring professionals to join our team as Human Services Surveyors. The Kentucky Department for Behavioral Health, Developmental, and Intellectual Disabilities' mission is to provide leadership, in partnership with others, to prevent disability, build resilience in individuals and their communities, and facilitate recovery for people whose lives have been affected by mental illness, intellectual disability or other developmental disability, or substance use.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform duties in providing planning, inspection, enforcement and/or consultative duties involving health and social care services.
- Perform inspections of Kentucky organizations making application or being re-certified for Alcohol and Other Drug Entity (AODE) licensure and associated certifications.
- Investigates complaints and provides consultation to health and social service providers.
- Requires travel across the state to facilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college of university with a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Two years of professional experience in emergency medical services, a health/human services program or two years of experience in inspection/investigative work or a combination of both or a related field.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Additional professional training in health services, human services, social work, or a related field will substitute for the experience on a year for year basis.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional experience in the above fields, or a related field, will substitute for the required college on a year for year basis.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONE
Working Conditions
Work is typically performed in an office setting. Investigates complaints and provides consultation to health and social service providers. Some travel is typically required.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
